For a Halloween cake you can make with your children, bake two chocolate bundt cakes. Put them together to look like a pumpkin and frost with orange frosting. Draw a Jack-o-Lantern face with yellow frosting. Outline it with chocolate frosting. Use a cupcake for a stem.
Another simple idea is the Graveyard Cake,
Bake cake in a 9″x12″ pan. Frost with chocolate frosting. Sprinkle crumbled chocolate cookies over the cake. Write little messages on ladyfinger cookies for tombstones. Use tiny plastic skeletons, or candy corn and pumpkins to sprinkle on the the ground.
